Kenya Women’s Premier League (KWPL) sides recorded impressive performances, booking their slots in the quarterfinals as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Cup Round 16 for the 2023-2024 season took center stage over the weekend.
Ulinzi Starlets FC, Zetech Sparks, Kenya Police Bullets FC, Kibera Soccer Ladies, and Bungoma Queens all made it to the last 8, except Vihiga Queens FC and Nakuru City Queens who were given resounding surprises of defeats.
Ulinzi Starlets secured a 3-0 victory against Royal Starlets in their FKF Women’s Cup Round of 16 match, held on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at the Ndura Sports Complex. Fasila Adhiambo initiated the scoring in the 22nd minute, propelling Ulinzi Starlets into the lead. Just 12 minutes later, she secured her brace, firmly establishing her team’s dominance and bringing the halftime score to 2-0.
In the second half, Linda Kihara of Ulinzi Starlets sealed the deal with a goal in the 66th minute, bringing the final score to 3-0 in their favor.
Elsewhere, at the Nakuru Showgrounds, Zetech Sparks triumphed over Vickers Queens with a 4-0 victory, securing their spot in the quarterfinals.
Fridhaus Abdalla broke the deadlock in the 19th minute, capitalizing on a rebound inside the penalty box and granting Zetech Sparks the lead. Monalizer Anyango doubled their advantage in the 35th minute, ensuring a halftime score of 2-0 in favor of Zetech Sparks.
The second half saw Beverline Adika extend Zetech Sparks’ lead with a goal in the 55th minute, followed by Sheril Chaviha sealing the victory with a goal in the 78th minute.

Additionally, Kangemi Ladies, Kibera Soccer Ladies, and Bungoma Queens also secured spots in the FKF Women’s Cup quarterfinals.
Earlier on Saturday, FC Milima Queens and Kisiwa Starlets secured early spots in the quarter-finals after victories against FKF Women Premier League sides Nakuru City Queens and Vihiga Queens respectively at Sudi Stadium.
The First half ended in a deadlock with neither team threatening the goal. However, the second half witnessed a change of fortunes as Barbara Masitsa opened the scoring for Milima Queens in the 47th minute before Eunice Nabwoba’s brace in the 81st and 88th minute to seal a 3-0 victory.
In the early kick-off of the doubleheader at Sudi Stadium, Kisiwa starlets also beat Vihiga Queens by a sole goal in the 32nd minute by Shamim Makokha.
Over at MamboLeo Stadium, Kenya Police Bullets also secured a spot in the quarter-finals after beating KISPED by 2 goals. Lucy Kwekwe scored Bullet’s opener in the 31st minute taking a lead into halftime break. The second goals were scored by Diana Wacera in the 54th minute.
