WORDS BY WAIRIMU NYATHIRA, EDITOR
The world’s greatest rally, the East African Safari Classic (EASCR), has announced the strengthening of its organizing team and its interfaces with all stakeholders, including drivers and rally followers.
Its revamped and improved website has been launched at https://www.theclassic-safari.com where all rally information will be available with a direct link to the SPORTITY mobile app for competitors.
The organizing team has been strengthened with 3 critical appointments. Jeet Ghose joins as the new CEO, building on the great work of his father, Joey Ghose, who remains as Chairman of the Board. Jeet has been involved with EASCR leadership since the change of ownership in 2019 and brings broad global business credibility to the team.
Tash Tundo returns to the EASCR in the role of Event Consultant to support the existing Management team and operations. Tash was the Event Director at the last Main Event of the EASCR in 2021 and has a rich pedigree in the East African Rally as both organizer and competitor in driving and navigator roles.
Riyaz Ismail joins as Operations Manager, with 15 years of experience in the accounting and finance sector. He has 12 years of involvement in the EASCR and other rally competitions in East Africa as a marshal, controller, team manager, and competitor.
Congratulations to the new team and the EASCR on its ongoing investment and objective to continue to be the world’s greatest rally.
Flash flashback memory for me is back in 2022 I attended the classic car rally which left me speechless. One of my memorable moments was interviewing Ken Block who was an American Professional Rally Driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division and passed on in a Snowmobile Accident.
