Mailmen Posta Rangers FC continued their perfect start to the KPL 2023-2024 season, after registering an important 3-1 victory over Batoto Ba Mungu, Sofapaka Fc. The match was hosted at Kasarani Annex.
With a goalless first half, quadruple goals came in the second half through Macharia Jackson who broke the deadlock early as they resumed. Man of the Match Peter Thiong’o scored a brace to seal the win for Posta Rangers with two quick goals in the 70th and 73rd minute of the match before Sofapaka registered their consolation goal in the 77th minute through substitute Oliver Maloba.
Defending champions Gormahia FC continued their unbeaten run, hosting ‘Simba wa Nairobi’ City Stars at Kasarani Main Stadium. Last season’s Golden Boot runner-up Benson Omalla started a good start this season, registering a brace to lead his side to a second win of the season.
Rooney Onyango stretched Gor’s lead at the stroke of halftime before City Star’s Dennis Oalo pulled one back in the 64th minute. Kogalo however had the last laugh with Austin Odhiambo sealing the win.
In Kakamega, ‘Abana ba Ingo’ Homeboyz FC secured their first win of the season against Tusker FC, after a sloppy start. Ambrose Sifuna struck early, with top scorer Moses Shummah’s header stretching the lead in the 27th minute. Tusker however pulled one back in the 70th minute through Zakayo Eric, but not enough to salvage them anything.
In Homabay Stadium, ‘Tore Bobe’ fans had thought they were banking three points when they took the lead in the 88th minute through midfield maestro Peter Ogechi, but their celebrations were shortlived before seeing their short-lived when Clinton Kinanga scored a 94th-minute equalizer for Kenya Police to deny Shabana FC their first win of the season.

Meanwhile in Mombasa, the Dockers, Bandari Fc, had all reasons to smile with the only goal through top man Abdalla Hassan ensuring they carry three points, leaving the headache to coach Antony Kimani whose soldiers Ulinzi Stars are yet to pick up a win.
Despite being the most active team in the transfer window, AFC Leopards seems to be living a shadow of their former self after playing out a 0-0 draw against Muhoroni Youth at Kasarani Stadium. Meanwhile in Sudi stadium, a wonderous strike by talented Daniel Wafula was not enough to grant the Millers a win, who drew 1-1 against Bidco United.
In the other matches, Kariobangi Sharks beat KCB by a 2-1 scoreline, while Talanta Fc welcomed newbies Murang’a Seal to KPL after handing them their first defeat in the dying minutes of the game through Alex Juma’s 90th-minute goal at Ruaraka Grounds.
